KNOXVILLE, TN
The Beginning
05.08.1989
I was born and raised in Knoxville, TN and followed suit of my grandfather by picking up music. I remember hearing my mother tell me often when she would come in my room while I was learning my first few chords on the guitar that my grandfather, Poppa, could just sit down at the piano and play - no music, no nothin'. It wasn't my intention to do it just like that, but I did.
I've been playing guitar (and a handful of other stringed things) for about 14 years. I'm a lucky man to get to call this my job. I had guitar lessons for about 6 months until I got to the point where I just started listening. I've made a career, thus far, by listening. I am by no means a master of the guitar (nor do I think anyone is), but I think that whether you are trying to learn "Sweet Home Alabama" for a talent show or trying to being in the next big rock band (or whatever your dream may be) listening is a large part of the equation. More on this later...
